buying by the case is nothing to wine about!

So one thing that Eric and I have gotten into the routine of doing is buying wine by the case. We drink a lot of wine but somehow we stretch a full case out for 3-4 weeks which is great!

We found a really good spot to buy wine from over in Cherry Hill called Wine Legends (website) which is totally worth the $4 toll bridge fee! Every trip we spend around $8/bottle. The great part is that you receive a 10% discount when you buy by the case AND most of the bottles we find are $9 or less. The majority of the bottles we have compared the pricing in Philly versus Jersey and the prices are on average $4 cheaper per bottle. RIDICULOUS!

Here is the latest assortment we bought:

We like to roam the main aisles because their new schtick is taking wines, putting them into shopping carts at the end of each aisle and putting them at an awesome price, I am talking in the $5 range!

two bottles we are excited about:

1. The Stump Jump Vintage 2008 Shiraz. We received a Stump Jump (year?) as a Christmas present a few years ago from Floriza & Lenny and we loved it but could not find it in the wine stores in Philly. This wine (or the last year we had it from) received an A for tanins, an A for holding-up against strong cheese pairings (i.e. piave with white truffle honey) and A for a good glass of wine after work! Excited to see what this ’08 tastes like, I am typically more of a Cab Sav/Old Vine Zin/Tempranillo kinda girl but Eric really likes Merlot/Shiraz/Grenache wines

2. Dom Bardo 2007 Albarino from Spain. If you cannot tell yet, we really like those tanic wines, for me I love the ones that make the back of your mouth go WOW! when you  take that first swirl of it. Anyways, we really have fallen for Tempranillos and Albarinos. We have not tried this yet but are excited that it may become a favorite!

So far we have tried the Falling Star 2008 Cab Sav from Argentina, another great region for great reds! We have had this bottle before. A great grab-and-go wine for spicy food (just had it with curry tonight!), cheese/olives, or just by itself. Wish we had saved it for Thai food this week!
