The first birthday gift given by Mr. C to the new Mrs. C!

Eric wanted to get me a birthday gift that matched my new initial
MJ was a little jealous.
Our proofs came in from our photographer, Michelle Arlotta, so here’s the unboxing! We were pretty excited since Michelle includes a custom proof box along with the photos and their digital copies.
I know we haven’t been giving the blog too much love lately. Busy can’t even describe our lives right now. I thought things were supposed to settle down and we’d have all this free time after the wedding. Well I thought wrong! Between work and friends, there seems to be something going on every night.
Anyways, our wedding photos by Michelle Arlotta are up! Hit up the link below to view them. The password is finn.
So it’s Friday and here’s a photo for you guys. October 25th officially marked our first month into our marriage. For those wondering, yup you’re definitely still head over heels at this point. So to celebrate, we went to our usual sushi spot. For dessert, the wife (heh) bought a box of chocolate covered strawberries
Happy friday folks!
Whew what a whirlwind week this has been! We’re back home from our wedding and mini honeymoon and we’re still on our wedding high!
So the wedding went off successfully. The weather was spectacular, the bride was gorgeous, and everyone had an incredible time. It was very gratifying to see all our hard work and planning come together into such a memorable event. We’d definitely like to thank everyone who put in so much into the wedding.
I’d like to describe the wedding in full detail, but one, my writing skills are definitely not up to the task (and I’m a little biased, but I know my words won’t do it justice). And two, Michelle Arlotta‘s pictures are on their way in a week or so, so keep checking back!
In the meantime, here are some pictures from our mini honeymoon. Since our real honeymoon will be in December, we decided to take a few days off after the wedding to unwind. For those couples who plan on postponing their honeymoons, we HIGHLY recommend taking at least three days off after your wedding. We didn’t think we’d need that much down time, but we were a lot more tired after the wedding than we thought!
Anyways, for our mini honeymoon, we stayed Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa for a few days. This place is on a beautiful 70-acre estate with gardens, terraces, waterfalls, and all that. We actually considered this a wedding venue before we arrived at Benmarl, though it was a bit over-the-top and pricier than what we had in mind for our wedding. But it’s definitely a perfect place to get away for a weekend. There is a spa on premise (where we booked a much needed massage), it’s about 10-15 minutes away from the three closest wineries (Benmarl, Stoutridge, and Glorie Farm), and 20 minutes south of New Paltz and Poughkeepsie. In fact, we ended up having dinner at Beso in New Paltz our first night there.
What we were really excited about was our dinner at Ristorante Caterina de’ Medici, one of CIA’s restaurants. We had a really good time, and it was fun just chatting with the servers (who are currently students). Our Maître d’, Professor Lauria, found out that we had just gotten married a few days before, and sent over an extra desserts along with word “Congratulations” piped in chocolate onto one of the plates. Definitely a great experience!
